La galería Antonia Puyó presenta Gelatina y Gloss la segunda exposición individual de la artista María Rojas en nuestra galería.
En los últimos tiempos algunas especies desconocidas han ido brotando de forma tímida entre las rocas magmáticas de Malpaís de Güimar. Las antiguas formaciones volcánicas de este áspero territorio en la isla de Tenerife, un día áridas y estériles, más tarde pobladas por una diversidad admirable de lo vivo: son hoy un lecho prolífico para organismos aún sin clasificar.
Desde ese lugar pegajoso María Rojas compone una fabulación expositiva donde las imágenes son seres vivos que cuelgan, yacen, se aparecen, serpentean, se amalgaman. Seres vivos que ya forman parte del paisaje del colapso.
Sus imágenes logran metabolizar un relato que resignifica lo que comprendemos como natural en un territorio. El derretimiento de las categorías de lo artificial o lo natural y su asumida confrontación, se materializa en estos paisajes híbridos, donde elementos naturales y artificiales coexisten de manera compleja.

The Antonia Puyó Gallery presents "Gelatina y Gloss," the second solo exhibition of artist María Rojas in our gallery.
In recent times, some unknown species have timidly emerged among the magmatic rocks of Malpaís de Güimar. The ancient volcanic formations of this rugged territory on the island of Tenerife, once arid and sterile, later became populated by an admirable diversity of life: today they are a prolific bed for organisms still unclassified.
From this sticky place, María Rojas composes an exhibition fabulation where the images are living beings that hang, lie, appear, meander, and merge. Living beings that are already part of the landscape of collapse.
Her images manage to metabolize a narrative that resignifies what we understand as natural in a territory. The melting of the categories of the artificial or the natural and its assumed confrontation materializes in these hybrid landscapes, where natural and artificial elements coexist in a complex manner.
